Fellowship news
I am incredibly proud to share that I have been formally appointed as a Visiting Fellow in the College of Business and Social Sciences at Aston University.
This is, without question, a privilege of a lifetime. Growing up as a working-class girl in inner-city Birmingham, I could never quite have imagined that one day I would be appointed to a role like this at Aston University. The university sits in the heart of the city that shaped me: my values, my work ethic, and my belief in education as a means of social mobility. To be recognised by Aston University in this way feels deeply personal and profoundly meaningful.
Throughout my career, I have been driven by a commitment to authentic leadership, high expectations, and improving outcomes for young people, particularly those from communities like the one I grew up in. This appointment feels like both a celebration of that journey and a responsibility to continue it.
I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to support the College of Business and Social Sciences and Aston University in the years ahead, contributing to dialogue, research, leadership development and the bridge between schools and higher education.
Education changes lives. It changed mine. Thank you to those who have supported and championed me along the way. This is a moment I will always hold with gratitude.
